What You Can Expect at the Aliquippa Arts and Music Festival

Excitement is growing as the time for the Franklin Center of Beaver County’s Annual Aliquippa Art and Music Festival grows nearer.  In celebration of its 20th year of the Festival’s existence, this year’s event will take place September 12-14 and is expected to attract hundreds of people to the Aliquippa downtown area on Franklin Avenue for live entertainment, art, fun activities for kids and food.

The festivities will begin on Thursday, September 12th at the Broadcast Street Café, 464 Franklin Avenue, with an Art Reception and Exhibit showcasing the creations of photographer Paul R. Couderc III of New Brighton and works of art from River’s Edge Studio in New Brighton, owned and operated by Christopher and Suzanne Gibson. Jazz siren Betty Douglas and her Trio will perform from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.  The popular artist is a Beaver County Musician Hall of Fame Inductee and a Rochester resident. Saturday’s festivities begin with the Annual Parade which will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the parking lot of St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 1210 Sheffield Avenue, Aliquippa and will feature area marching bands, groups, individuals, organizations.  The parade will proceed down Franklin Avenue to the Festival site where food vendors, the art exhibit, crafts, children’s activities, free entertainment and more will be highlighted.  Non-stop stage entertainment performed on two stages will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Towne Towers parking area. This year features the return of Rare Experience Band and Show with jazz and R & B artist Janine Gilbert-Carter.  The excitement is growing around this increasingly popular event.  The Franklin Center looks forward to the success of this Annual Festival and to bringing together the people of Beaver County in celebration of the arts.  See you at Beaver County’s ONLY FESTIVAL THAT CELEBRATES THE ARTS: the Franklin Center of Beaver County’s 20th Art and Music Festival!!!
