Some studies indicates that this maybe because partially referring to the teachers own subjective judgment. But for some mental health professionals and physicians, the cause is quite unknown.

The ADHD symptoms are quite difficult to differentiate from other mental disorders. Because of this reason, there are possibilities that ADHD is misdiagnosed that cause the increase of this mental disorder. In addition, most physicians did not undergo thorough training in assessing and treating the symptoms of ADHD especially in an adult ADHD patient.

The diagnosing of ADHD in a child and adult has been controversial for over these years now. There are many involved in this argument, such as the physicians, mental health care professionals, teachers, parents, and even the media.
