“I’ve Heard About the Hero Program! So What Can I Do To Help?”
The Hero Program hears this question all the time and it is both easy and difficult to answer. Truthfully, we have many ways that you can help us depending on your interests, talents, and abilities!
Are you a high school student in search of service hours?
The Hero Program needs dedicated volunteers for the Special Needs Prom as escorts and to aid with the 5/10K Run/Walk in sales, blocking off streets, food serving, donations, and more.
Don’t need the hours but need to complete a senior project in order to graduate? Fear not!
The Hero Program is pairing with high school students from the class of 2011 to build rewarding and appropriate senior projects. Our organization can provide ideas as well as materials and funding for project development, such as websites, print materials, t-shirts, and more. Contact senior project coordinator/internVictoria Docherty at Victoria@heroprogram.org or call 412.759.6552 for more details.
Out of high school but want to get your employer involved with the Hero Program? No problem!
The Hero Program gladly accepts financial or in-kind donations on a regular basis or for special events. Just let us know how you would like to contribute and we can graciously accommodate your gift!
And finally, do you have a big heart and a few extra hours?
The Hero Program would love your help! Please check the events calendar at www.heroprogram.org for a complete list of all upcoming events. If you find an event that sparks your interest, go to the “Contact Us” section of the website and let us know! We will then be in touch with you shortly and provide you with a choice of opportunities for the event.
Our mission is to provide supportive, educational and entertainment services to terminally ill individuals and their families.
