Woodlands Foundation Opens It’s Doors to Nonprofits

The Woodlands Foundation is opening its doors to area nonprofit organizations for just such occasions. “We’re close to home, but a world away,” said Peter Clakeley, the Woodlands Executive Director. 

Located on a 32-acre wooded property in Bradford Woods/Wexford, the Woodlands’ modern, accessible facilities include conference rooms for meetings, a lodge and a dormitory for overnight retreats, a dining hall and kitchen that offer various catering options, a large multi-use activity center, and free on-site parking. 

“We can accommodate nonprofit groups of 4 to 300 people, depending on the event,” said Clakeley. “What makes us different is that we offer a casual, non-traditional environment with lots of indoor and outdoor activities, service learning opportunities, and flexible scheduling options that you won’t find at a hotel or conference center.” 

The Woodlands is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of people with disability and chronic illness. Income generated from rental of its facilities helps fund programs such as weekend retreats, summer camps, conferences and various other enrichment activities for people with special needs.
