TILLOTSON FAMILY TO BE HONORED AT WOODLANDS BUTTERFLY BALL
Harry Hunter of Hunter Truck Sales, Honorary Chair of Gala Fundraiser
12th Annual Butterfly Ball to Benefit Woodlands’ Programs for Children with Disabilities
The Willard and Carol Tillotson family will be honored at the Woodlands 12th Annual Butterfly Ball on Saturday, October 8 at the Pittsburgh Marriott North. Harry Hunter of Hunter Truck Sales, headquartered in Butler, PA, is the Butterfly Ball honorary chair. The gala fundraiser benefits the Woodlands’ programs for children, teens and adults with disabilities and chronic illnesses.
The Tillotson family plays an integral role in the Pittsburgh business arena and is actively involved in promoting the Pittsburgh community and its charitable organizations. The late Willard J. “Bill” Tillotson, Jr. founded Hefren-Tillotson, an investment advisory firm, in 1948. Mr. Tillotson’s integrity, competence and years of personal service fostered the company’s growth into the largest and oldest firm headquartered in Western Pennsylvania. Bill Tillotson’s wife, Carol, is a founding member of the auxiliary, and both have contributed to various Woodlands programs.
Funds raised at the annual Butterfly Ball will support the Woodlands’ programming for children and adults with disability and chronic illness. The Woodlands, which partners with more than 20 different charitable organizations, serves more than 8,000 participants annually. Its innovative programs and facilities include the Notes from the Heart Music Program, Mazeroski Sports Program, Creative Arts Program, Jewel in the Woods Spirituality Program, year-round aquatics, and adaptive golf at the region’s only “No Handicap” Golf Course.
Tickets for the Butterfly Ball are $150 per person. Highlights include a cocktail reception and silent auction beginning at 6 p.m., followed by dinner, a live auction, and dancing. Tickets and sponsorship opportunities are available by calling the Woodlands Foundation at (724) 935-6533. For more information about the Woodlands, go to www.mywoodlands.org.
