The Sandwich Generation Gets Help Finding Resources to Care for Aging Parents

The Sandwich Generation:  Caring for Your Parents While Caring for Your Kids

Free workshop will help families find the resources they need to care for aging parents

Valley Care Association and BeHome Partners will present “The Sandwich Generation: Caring for Your Parents While Caring for Your Kids” on April 20, 2010 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Valley Care Adult Day Center, 650 Cherrington Parkway, Moon Township, 15108.

Barbara Reck of Lutheran SeniorLife will share information with people who find themselves caring for both their parents and their children. The “sandwich generation” feels pressure to help their children become independent while helping their parents age with dignity.  Information about the many options available to care for aging parents and grandparents, both at home and in an alternative setting, will be covered.

This free workshop is open to members of the public. Light refreshments will be served and attendees will be entered into a gift basket raffle. Free respite care for older adults is available during the presentation. Please call in advance to discuss your loved one’s needs.

To RSVP, call 412-749-5257 by April 16, 2010.
