Contact Beaver Valley make the telephone a Lifeline for many in the Beaver County Area. The Mission of CONTACT Beaver Valley is to respond to the needs of callers through listening, and referral to appropriate services, 24 hours a day – 365 days a year. Their services include:
- Helpline and Information Referral Services that operates 24/7
- Reassurance Program that makes outgoing calls to individuals that are elderly, isolated, living alone, shut in, or handicapped.
- Homeless Helpline that operates 24/7
- Provide access to the national 1-800-SUICIDE Helpline and 1-800-227-TALK Hopeline to the entire 724 area code which covers 12 counties in Southwestern Pennsylvania.
- Participates in the Department of Veterans Affairs national suicide prevention hotline
- Provides after hours answering service for the following agencies in Beaver County:
- o The Prevention Project’s SAFE Gate Program
- o Beaver County’s Low Income Energy Assistance Program
- Offers “Skills for Better Listening” training for potential volunteers, and for the community to be used for personal growth and continuing education.
The residents of Beaver County depend on the free, anonymous, and confidential services provided by CONTACT Beaver Valley phone workers.
