Salvation Army is Bridging the Gap Between Youth and Community Service

The Salvation Army presents: The Bridging the Gap “between youth and community service” program. The Westside Salvation Army is pleased to introduce the Bridging the Gap between youth and community service program to the Pittsburgh area.

The Bridging the Gap program was originally started in Massachusetts in 1996. It is currently operating successfully in 12 different locations within Massachusetts with an 85% success rate.   This curriculum based program focuses on at risk males and females between the ages of 12 to 17 years old that have had their first time non-violent offense, truancy issues, and those teeter on the fence of positive decision making. The program is free to participants and participants are required to complete at least 25 hours of community service while attending the program.

Summer Fall/Winter/ Spring
Mondays & Wednesdays Mondays & Wednesdays
1:00 PM – 4:00 PM 4:00PM -7:00pm

For the summer session the Westside Salvation Army is Also offering a 9-5 peace of mind option for parents who would prefer daily supervision for their pre-teen or teen.
