Redstone Highlands Senior Living Community to “Rock for Cancer”

As part of Redstone Presbyterian SeniorCare’s dedication to fundraising and supporting charitable organizations throughout the year, the senior living community’s Murrysville campus will host a non-traditional “Rock for Cancer” event, featuring comfortable rocking chairs for the participating “rockers,” live music and entertainment, and light refreshments.

There are a variety of ways for individuals to support the event:

  1. Come to the Murrysville campus, find a comfortable rocking chair, and enjoy a restful 15 minute rock for a $1.00 donation
  2. Sponsor a designated “rocker” who will rock for you for 15 minutes for a $1.00 donation
  3. Donate $1.00 to put the “Mystery Celebrity Rocker” in action for 15 minutes – additional donations will keep them rocking!
  4. Make an outright donation to the American Cancer Society during the event

“Rock for Cancer” is just one of the many fundraising initiatives put on as part of the “Redstone Gives Program.” Each year, Redstone selects charitable organizations it will focus on supporting, promoting, and raising funds for. This year Redstone has selected the American Heart Association, Alzheimer’s Association, Westmoreland County Food Bank and the American Cancer Society.

Each of the three senior living community campuses has a “Redstone Gives” team, which is comprised of both residents and employees.  These teams plan, coordinate and host all of the fundraising activities on their campus to support the charities – such as the Murrysville campus “Rock for Cancer” event.
