Redstone Highlands Offers Highly Regarded Program on Dementia and the Arts

Redstone Presbyterian SeniorCare is pleased to announce a special program featuring Dr. Daniel Potts: Reflecting Experiences with the Art of Lester E. Potts Jr. The program will take place on Friday, September 30th at 7:30 pm in the Redstone Highlands North Huntingdon campus dining room.

Dr. Potts will present a slide-sound program reflection on the art of his father. Don Wendorf, a musician with Shady Mountain Air, will perform two songs he composed for people with dementia.

Daniel C. Potts, MD, FAAN is a neurologist, author, educator and champion of those with Alzheimer’s or other dementias and their caregivers. Currently he is at the Tuscaloosa Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Dr. Potts is a founder and medical advisor of the Clergy Against Alzheimer’s Network, and is Editor of Seasons of Caring, a multi-faith collection of meditations for dementia caregivers. Inspired by his father’s transformation from saw miller to water color artist while in the throes of dementia, Dr. Potts presents this program. Recently Dr. Potts collaborated with Dr. Richard Morgan, a Redstone resident, on Treasure for Alzheimer’s: Reflecting on the Art of Lester Potts Jr.

Please RSVP to Pam by calling 724-864-1429.
