POWER’s Stories of Recovery Are a Testament to Courage

A Night of Hope event is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22, at a new location – Rodef Shalom Congregation in Oakland. One of Pittsburgh’s premier fundraising events, POWER PROMISES will highlight graduates of the organization’s woman-centered alcohol and drug treatment programs whose stories of recovery are a testament to their courage. The event, hosted by Honorary Chair Cindy Shapira, will include dinner, auctions and raffles, and entertainment.

The evening will also include the presentation of the Seeds of Hope Award to the Community Service Committee of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) PA West Chapter – for their hard work, dedication, and creativity in transforming POWER’s residential treatment facility through the Make Our House a Home campaign.

KDKA News Anchor and POWER Advisory Council member Brenda Waters will emcee the event for the eighth consecutive year and Tom Murphy will once again lend his energy and enthusiasm to the live auction.

All proceeds will benefit POWER (Pennsylvania Organization for Women in Early Recovery). POWER’s mission is to help women reclaim their lives from the disease of addiction to alcohol and other drugs, and to reduce the incidence of addiction in future generations.

Individual reservations are available from POWER for $100 each; patron reservations are $150.  Tables of eight seats are available for $750; patron tables of eight seats are available for $1,100.
