Open Student Auditions Set for Musical “White Christmas”

Open auditions begin Aug. 27 for area high school students who wish to try out for parts in the upcoming Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center production of the Irving Berlin musical “White Christmas.” Parts also are open for female child actors, ages 9 to 12, according to Director Gavan Pamer. Based on the classic musical film starring Bing Crosby, “White Christmas” is Lincoln Park’s Tri-State Musical, to be performed Nov. 9-11 and 16-18 in Lincoln Park’s 750-seat mainstage theater.  Each fall, participation in the Tri-State Musical is open to high school students from the surrounding region of West Virginia, Ohio and Pennsylvania. A rehearsal period of seven weeks precedes the two performance weekends. “Our staging of ‘White Christmas’ will be a fully realized production to Broadway standards with a professional staff. Students – not only performers, but also musicians, technicians and apprentices – will work with a professional director, choreographer, music director, conductor and design staff,” said Pamer. Auditions for performers and musicians are to be scheduled for Aug. 27-28, those for dancers, Aug. 30.
