NHCO Bellevue Office Expands to Better Serve Families in Crisis

North Hills Community Outreach is pleased to announce the expansion of its North Boroughs office, located in the AGH Suburban campus building, 100 S. Jackson Avenue, Bellevue. The expansion will provide 50 percent more office space, allowing for more services and increased privacy for the struggling families who come to NHCO for help. The office space and food pantry on floor 2 South will remain open, while more office space will open on the first floor off the lobby. The new space is slated to open in May 2013.

The expansion is made possible thanks to an ongoing partnership with West Penn-Allegheny Health System, which rents the space to NHCO for $1 per month. North Hills Community Outreach has five offices in the North Hills area and has maintained a presence in Bellevue since 2000. Last year the North Boroughs office served 1,359 families, providing $131,193 in food, housing and utility assistance. NHCO also operates its Faith In Action caregiving for seniors program from this site.

“We needed to expand in order to effectively serve families in need in the North Boroughs area with dignity. We’re grateful to West Penn-Allegheny Health System for their ongoing generosity,” said Fay Morgan, executive director of North Hills Community Outreach.

West Penn Allegheny Health System executive Kim Sperring commended North Hills Community Outreach for its invaluable work on behalf of the community’s most vulnerable citizens.

“North Hills Community Outreach is a wonderful organization that works tirelessly to make sure those who have fallen on difficult times have the basic resources that can help them resume meaningful and productive lives.  We are proud to support a program that makes such a tremendous difference in the lives of so many people each year,” Sperring said.

North Hills Community Outreach is a community- and faith-based nonprofit organization addressing the needs of people in northern Allegheny County in crisis, hardship and poverty. Last year, 6,083 families received services ranging from emergency food, rent and utility assistance to employment assistance and long-term family development.
