NHCO Announces New Executive Director

The board of directors of North Hills Community Outreach is pleased to announce the hiring of the organization’s new executive director, Sharon Wolf. A dedicated nonprofit executive with more than 25 years of experience, Ms. Wolf began her position March 10, succeeding Ms. Fay Morgan, who left NHCO in September to lead Passavant Hospital Foundation. Ms. Wolf will oversee more than 20 programs, 30 employees and 1,700 volunteers at five sites, including NHCO Allison Park, North Boroughs and Millvale, Lighthouse Pointe in O’Hara, and Community Auto in Pine.

Ms. Wolf, of Franklin Park, has extensive nonprofit leadership and development experience and has devoted her career to working with organizations whose missions are focused on improving the quality of life for people in communities in Western Pennsylvania. Prior to joining NHCO, she was director of development at the Spina Bifida Association of Western Pennsylvania (SBAWP), where she led the organization’s fundraising efforts. Before joining SBAWP she was executive director of the Children’s Festival Chorus of Pittsburgh, director of planning and evaluation at Community Action Southwest and director of regional fundraising for the Salvation Army of Western Pennsylvania.

Ms. Wolf is an avid writer, particularly skilled in grant writing, and a collaborative leader. She is enthusiastic about NHCO’s mission, which is to address the needs of people in crisis, hardship and poverty. Throughout her years of service to the community, she has demonstrated a passion for helping those in need.

She received her master of arts in communications from California University of Pennsylvania and her bachelor’s in sociology from Clarion University of Pennsylvania. In her spare time, Ms. Wolf performs as soprano II with the Pittsburgh C
