News for June from North Hills Nonprofit NHCO

NHCO volunteers urgently needed in June

Do you love the game of golf, or doing something  meaningful with a group of friends?  North Hills Community Outreach urgently needs volunteers to register to help in our assigned concessions tent at the Men’s US Open golf tournament, June 13-19, at Oakmont Country Club. The Open donates funds for each NHCO volunteer hour served. This is a huge fundraising opportunity for us, but we need your help! Before or after finishing an eight-hour shift in the Open’s only air-conditioned concessions tent, volunteers can watch golf’s greatest athletes in action. Lunch is provided. Please contact Harriet with questions at hzgibbs@nhco.org or 412-408-3830 x 3204. Or register directly at  volunteerspot.com/login/entry/679052588051

Please note: This opportunity involves a considerable amount of standing and walking. Volunteers 14-17 must be accompanied by a volunteer 18 or older.

NHCO’s annual Back-to-School Collection is on!

North Hills Community Outreach is collecting new backpacks and school supplies for students in kindergarten through 12. Backpacks, notebooks, binders, folders, pencils, pens – anything students need to succeed! Gently used Texas Instrument graphic/scientific calculators are also needed for high school students. Please contact Vicki at vdburst@nhco.org or 412-487-6316 opt 1 x3143. Donations can be dropped off at any NHCO office, including NHCO Allison Park, 1975 Ferguson Road, or Community Auto, 11490 Perry Highway, Monday – Friday, 9a.m.-4p.m. through July 29.

Food donations needed at NHCO

North Hills Community Outreach’s three food pantries serve 1,400 local families each year. During summer, the pantries do not get enough donations to keep the shelves stocked, but the same number of people are served. Please consider holding a food drive or donating nonperishable, unexpired food or paper products. Financial donations are also crucially needed. Donations may be dropped off at any NHCO office, M-F, 9am-4pm, including the main office at 1975 Ferguson Road, Allison Park, PA 15101 or alternate arrangements can be made. For more information, please contact Erica at emcochran@nhco.org or 412-487-6316 opt 1 x 3144.
