Network of Hope Grateful for 2011, Excited for 2012

What an exciting year that has brought wonderful changes and some exciting new endeavors! This was our first year hosting Hope-4-the-‘Burgh.  With your support we were able to accomplish a great thing in our city. Over 52,000 pounds of groceries and more than 3,000 backpacks filled with school supplies were given away to families in need. In 2011 our ability to reach and help “the one” was strengthened by new partnerships and collaborations that we didn’t have a year ago. World Vision has endorsed us as one of their key partners in local Pittsburgh initiatives. USX Federal Credit Union, the W. Clark Hagan Trust administered by PNC Charitable Trustand the Centimark Corporation have joined the team as sponsors with their both their resources and expertise.  We have partnered with the Sewickley Valley YMCA to broaden our CoraopolisAfter-School Center.

Our Hope Homes opened in three new locations in 2011. There is now a men’s recovery home in Reading, a women’s recovery home in Braddock and a home for graduates in the North Side.

Once again just this year you made the holidays brighter by providing gifts for more than 800 children through our Give-A-Giftprogram.   Each month, hundreds of families monthly receive groceries because of your generous support of our Food Bank.

At this time of year I remember the greatest gift of hope in Christ and I am thankful for each one of you who spread that same hope to others when you support the Network of Hope.  In the words of one grateful parent, “We thank God that there are people out there who are willing to help us.”
