Come join Milestone for our 2012 Milestone Walk! Register yourself or your friends, family, and neighbors!
The 2012 Milestone Walk is on Saturday, September 15th, from 10:00AM to 1:00PM at Monroeville Community Park. Walking the park’s trails is only one piece of the whole event, though! There will also be a Health and Wellness Expo and a Chinese Auction. The Health and Wellness Expo will include the presence of nutrition experts, a massage therapist, vision and posture screenings, and more.
Why would a Behavioral health and Intellectual Disabilities Agency have a Health and Wellness Expo at their walk? Well, did you know individuals with mental illness, on average, die 25 years earlier than the general population? Milestone is committed to reversing this statistic. Programs at Milestone, such as the Health Care Home Project, equip Milestone consumers with theinformation, education, and resources to improve their health and wellness everyday. The health of the body and the health of the mind affect each other, so neither should be ignored.

The annual Milestone Walk is currently Milestone’s only fundraising event. The proceeds from this year’s Walk will support consumer services such as housing, transportation, and the development of skills that promote independence.
