Senior living community partners with Oakmont Library and Military Connections to commemorate veterans and raise awareness for on-going military support

WHAT: Longwood at Oakmont, a Presbyterian Senior Care Continuing Care Retirement Community in Plum, will have an on-site Veterans Day memorial exhibit for the public and community members from November 11, 2013 to November 15, 2013. Additionally, Longwood at Oakmont will be assisting Military Connections, a non-profit Pittsburgh corporation that sends equipment, care packages, and supplies to military personnel stationed overseas, by hosting a supplies drive within the Oakmont-Plum community from November 4, 2013 to December 5, 2013. The box for the supplies drive will be in the main lobby at Longwood at Oakmont, 500 Route 909, Verona, PA 15147.
A ceremonial event will take place at 11 a.m. on Veterans Day, November 11, 2013, that will feature Jack Bogut, a long-time Pittsburgh radio personality. In addition, Longwood at Oakmont will be recognizing its own residents who served in the armed forces during the ceremony.
