Lincoln Parks Performing Arts Center Presents Disney’s the Little Mermaid Jr.

“Disney’s The Little Mermaid Jr.,” a kid-friendly musical play based on the Disney 2008 Broadway production and the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale, is to be presented in three shows on Saturday, Sept. 15, at Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center. In a magical kingdom fathoms below the ocean’s surface, the beautiful young mermaid Ariel longs to leave her ocean home to live in the world above. To do so, she’ll have to defy her father King Triton, make a deal with the evil sea witch Ursula, and convince Prince Eric that she’s the girl with the enchanting voice. “Disney’s The Little Mermaid Jr.” features the hit songs “Part of Your World,” “She’s in Love,” and the Oscar-winning “Under the Sea.” In this Jeter Backyard Theater production, children are “up close and personal” with teenage actors playing the parts of Ariel, Flounder, Sebastian, and all of their favorite characters from the Disney movie. The cast will be available to meet the audience and have pictures made directly following each show. Shows begin at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. in the Lincoln Park studio theater. Tickets are $8 and may be purchased through the box office, 724.643.9004, or online at www.lppac.org
