Lawrence County Shelter Holds Fundraising Gala

Mark your calendar for the Crisis Shelter’s 25th Annual Gala Auction scheduled for March 23, 2013 at the Scottish Rite Cathedral, 110 E. Lincoln Avenue, New Castle, PA.  More than 500 items have been donated to previous auctions ranging from Sporting Event Tickets, Airline Tickets, Celebrity Items, Jewelry, Trips, Collectibles, Disney Tickets, Golf Packages and much, much more.

“We appreciate the generosity of so many local businesses and community members who support our auction either with their donation, ad or attendance” said executive director, Deborah Hartman.  “Donations of new items are currently being accepted at 1218 West State Street, New Castle and all donated items are tax deductible as allowed by law.” 

To purchase tickets ($40.00 each) to this exciting event, please stop by the office at 1218 West State Street. No tickets will be sold at the door. The Crisis Shelter of Lawrence County is the only domestic violence emergency shelter and sexual assault provider in Lawrence County and has been serving individuals and families in our County for more than 30 years.  We provide a wide range of free services to women, children and men who are victims of all forms of violence including domestic violence, adult and child sexual assault, child and elder abuse, and other serious crimes.  Our caring, professional staff offers victim support services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week that meet the diverse needs of people of all ages, races, religions, ethnicity, sexual orientation, physical ability and socioeconomic status.  Programs include a 24-hour hotline; temporary emergency shelter; transitional housing; legal and medical advocacy; individual and group counseling, including art and music therapy; community education; school prevention education and training for professionals. The Crisis Shelter of Lawrence County empowers and advocates for those affected by domestic violence, sexual assault and other violent crimes.  We inspire and educate citizens to create safer communities and break the cycle of violence.
