Enrollment is open for the Going Places Network for Women — a seven week job preparation & support group that boasts a 63% success rate of employment within the first month of graduation; 80% employment within the three months after graduation! It works!
The Going Places Network by Walmart, a program of Dress for Success Worldwide, is free of charge and open to women who are seeking employment. Through seven weekly meetings, you will learn how to present your personal “brand” in interviews, customize your résumé for different positions, navigate LinkedIn and other social media for job leads, and much more. You will also have the chance to work one-on-one with career coaches and build your personal network in a small, supportive environment with other women. Unemployed and under-employed women will gain career skills, learn how to utilize job search resources and build confidence. The Going Places Network is for women only ~ no age restrictions.
GPN is seven weeks long, and the meetings will held on Fridays from 9:30AM—2:00PM beginning May 10th at the Dress for Success Pittsburgh office downtown. As part of Going Places, UPMC’s POWRR (Partnership on Workforce Readiness and Retention) will offer career counseling and first interviews to participants, along with other employers during a private job fair. They are recruiting for patient techs (paid training provided) as well as clerical, medical coding, housekeeping and all other aspects of hospital operations.
Provided weekly: transportation, light breakfast & lunch, suiting for interview, and connections to employers.
Business Casual dress requested.
