Focus on Renewal is seeking an intern/apprentice with an interest in nonprofit, social service and arts design and marketing. This is a paid, part-time temporary internship.
About Focus On Renewal and the Father Ryan Arts Center Focus on Renewal (FOR), a nonprofit human service agency that has served the McKees Rocks community for 44 years, and is nationally recognized as a model of comprehensive services to lowincome people of all ages. The Father Ryan Arts Center is a community center where art happens. We seek to be the “mirror” that reflects the diversity, creativity, and spirit of the StoRox community. We seek to provide exceptional, engaging, communitycentered arts programming that empowers and brings vitality to the lives of individuals in the neighborhood and region. Our activities cover a variety of artistic genres, from dance to sculpture to jazz. Programs primarily take place in a multi level facility in the heart of the McKees Rocks business district at 420 Chartiers Avenue.
The Internship As an important member of the small FOR team, the Marketing and Design Intern will provide support to all aspects of our marketing functions. A great match for someone who is selfstarting, techsavvy, creative, and interested in practical, handson experience in developing and implementing marketing and design. Duties will include, but are not limited to: ? Drafting email marketing campaigns and press releases ? Posting and editing electronic media content and assisting with the rebranding of the website ? Designing simple promotional pieces (electronic and print) ? Managing patron databases (email and contact lists) ? Supporting the marketing initiatives of FOR ? Other duties as assigned
Candidate Qualifications Common sense, strong work ethic, ability to work independently ? Enthusiasm, creativity, and attention to detail ? Proficient with Google Apps ? Familiarity with Facebook, Twitter, DreamWeaver, InDesign, Photoshop and/or WordPress preferred, but not required ? At least 2 years of college with a demonstrated interest in arts or nonprofit marketing and design
