Agnus Berenato—First Lecture in the Bethlehem Haven Lecture Series
If you don’t think you can be inspired at 7:30 a.m., then you have not had the opportunity to hear Agnus Berenato speak. Her contagious energy and boundless enthusiasm kicked off the Helping Women Helps the World Lecture Series presented by UPMC Health Plan. As head coach of the University of Pittsburgh women’s basketball program, Agnus has to both motivate and mentor her team. Her recollection of the many times she has stood strong alongside one of her players in the face of adversity demonstrates that she is a woman of action, and her words have inspired others to do the same. She encouraged attendees to reach out to other women—whether they be neighbors, friends, or strangers—and make a connection that makes a difference.
The name of the lecture series, Helping Women Helps the World, was inspired by the new vision of world philanthropy where organizations who once provided ubiquitous aid packages are now giving direct assistance to women and girls in those same communities. Why? Because when these women raise the standard of living for their own families, they collectively elevate the entire community.
Proceeds from the lecture benefit Bethlehem Haven and help us offer a helping hand to women who are working diligently to rebuild their lives and restore self-sufficiency. There are three lectures left in the series, so you can still be a part of something that makes a difference. Sponsorships are available and provide generous packages that support women in your own organization through event tickets as well as provide ample advertisement of your generosity. For more information on how to become a sponsor, please contact Jennifer Signore at 412-391-1348×222 or email@example.com.
Won’t you join us? (All lectures take place at the Rivers Club, One Oxford Center, downtown.)
