On Saturday, October 3, Focus On Renewal (FOR) will celebrate its 46th anniversary with a special event at the Father Ryan Arts Center, 420 Chartiers Avenue, McKees Rocks.
Fr. Don Fisher, Co-Founder of FOR, will be honored for the profound impact he has had on the Sto-Rox community. Honorary chairman is Fr. Regis Ryan, executive director of the Sto-Rox Family Health Center. Corporate chairman is Charles Peterson, First Niagara community development officer.
Sr. Sarah Crotty, FOR associate director, said, “Fr. Don Fisher continues to serve all people in his adopted neighborhood of Sto-Rox. After founding Focus On Renewal, he was missioned in Africa and has now come full circle returning as our resident potter at the Father Ryan Arts Center. Fr. Don is a true priest for the people and we want to honor his faithful service.”
The gala will begin at 6 p.m. with a $125.00 VIP reception. The theme is “A Taste of Sto-Rox” and will feature homestyle favorites, such as pierogies, haluski, ravioli, chicken and more.
The main celebration will begin at 7:30 p.m. To commemorate FOR’s 46th year, individual tickets are only $46.00. A slide show honoring Fr. Don will be held in the Baverso Theater, with a silent auction in the Art Gallery.
