Community Auto to Give Away Vehicle to a Family in Need on Dec. 22

Applications accepted now through December 7

The eighth annual Community Auto “Too Big for The Stocking” car giveaway has returned this holiday season with a chance for a low-income working family to win a 2008 Chevrolet Impala. Community Auto is a program of North Hills Community Outreach that serves low-income, working residents all over Allegheny County.

A winner will be presented with the vehicle on KDKA-TV’s Pittsburgh Today Live on December 22.

Eligible entrants are low-income individuals who are residents of Allegheny County and who are working a minimum of 25 hours per week or have a hire letter in hand, have dependent children in their household, and need a vehicle to get to work and perform basic, daily functions such as grocery shopping and getting children to school, daycare and medical appointments.

The giveaway package is valued at more than $9,000 and the vehicle comes with new inspection and emissions stickers, fresh detailing, oil change, a two-year/26,500 Mile Warranty via GWC Warranty, one-year AAA-Plus membership, child car safety seats if needed, monthly gas cards and holiday presents for the children.

Applications from qualified families are due December 7 by 4 p.m. and may be emailed, hand-delivered or mailed to Community Auto, 11490 Perry Highway, Suite 7, Wexford, PA 15090. Postmark of December 7 is not acceptable. A selection panel will review applications and select a winner, who will be notified before December 22.

Applications and more specific guidelines are available at www.communityauto.org or by calling Community Auto at 724-443-8300.
