City Mission Continues to Need Prepared Meals and Monetary Donations

City Mission has temporarily moved the 58 men that were displaced by the fire that destroyed the kitchen and damaged much of the main Mission building on June 9. Washington High School has opened their cafeteria for shelter until a more long-term solution is finalized.

“We are very thankful for the community’s outpouring of support and generosity,” said Wendy Barbeau, City Mission’s Director of Programs. “Currently we have relocated the men that formerly lived in McCausland Men’s Shelter to the Wash High cafeteria. We are working hard to finalize the more long-term solution for housing these men. Our number one priority is to keep our residents in a consistent, comfortable and safe environment.”

Prepared meals and monetary donations are still the organization’s top needs as they continue operations. For meals, contact Judy Sandy at 724-263-3185. Donations can be mailed to 382 West Chestnut Street, Suite 108, or given on City Mission’s website at www.citymission.org.
