Steps to Independence (STI), began in 1998 as Conductive Education of Pittsburgh.  We are an organization of professionals and parents offering summer and school-year programs for children ages 2-21 with motor disabilities. Conductive Education emphasizes active learning in groups of four to ten students and is led by highly trained educators known as conductors. Rather than using assistive devices such as wheelchairs and walkers, children use specially designed wooden furniture to practice a wide range of motor skills. Continue Reading
