Pressley Ridge to Host 24th Anual Ice Cream Fundae Event Presented by Graeter’s Ice Cream

Currently in a $12 million capital campaign to raise funds for a new School for Autism and Deaf, Pressley Ridge serves more than 7,300 children and families each year through foster care, education and mental and behavioral health services. The organization’s signature event, Ice Cream Fundae, has been a tradition for more than two decades and raises funds for Pressley Ridge’s vital mission.

On Sunday, August 12, the 24th Annual Pressley Ridge Ice Cream Fundae will be held at Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium from 6 – 9 p.m. More than 2,000 people are expected to attend this signature fundraising event and enjoy a summer evening filled with ice cream, animals and fun activities.

Ice Cream Fundae is presented by Graeter’s Ice Cream, which will donate nearly 400 gallons of handmade ice cream for participating companies to choose a flavor and rename.

“We had such a great time participating in Ice Cream Fundae last year and are honored to partner with Pressley Ridge again,” said Matthew Howell, Graeter’s District Manager. “Events like this allow us to get out into the community, while supporting an incredibly worthwhile cause.”

Attendees can sample as much ice cream as they can eat, then vote for their favorite flavor throughout the evening. At the culmination of the event, the winning corporate sponsor will receive the coveted “Silver Scoop Trophy” for the best flavor. FHL Bank Pittsburgh will return to defend their title as the Silver Scoop winners from 2017 with their flavor – “She Sells Salted Caramel by the Seashore.”

“Ice Cream Fundae has truly become a Pittsburgh family tradition over the past two decades,” said Susanne Cole, President and CEO. “The event continues to grow each year and allows us to gain awareness of our critical mission. Through the funds raised at this year’s event, we will touch the lives of thousands of children and families right here in our community.”

In addition to the sights and sounds of the animals and aquatic life at the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium, Ice Cream Fundae will also feature kids’ activities, including face painting and mascots, as well as musical entertainment.

Ticket prices are: $50 for a family four-pack, $25 for individual tickets (ages 18+) and $10 for kids ages 4-17. Ages 3 and under are free. Visit www.pressleyridge.org/icecream for tickets and more information.
