During these very difficult financial times it is more critical that every that our youth learn financial literacy.  Junior Achievement of Western PA is committed to our mission of educating our youth and their families about financial matters.  Please take a moment to read what the President, Dennis P. Gilfoyle and the Chairman, Larry G. Schultz has to say about the good work this organization is offering.

The importance of what JA does is captured in our core purpose statement-inspiring and preparing young people to succeed in a global economy.  Fulfilling this purpose has never been more urgent or more important than it is today.

As President of the largest JA chapter in Pennsylvania, we trust you will continue to voice your support of our mission throughout the region and urge your associates and colleagues to do the same.  Junior Achievement is keenly positioned as a provider of programs that teach workforce readiness skills, entrepreneurship and FINANCIAL LITERACY.  Perhaps at no other time in our history is there more of an opportunity to become actively involved with teaching children and their families about financial matters.

We hope that you are as encouraged about the future as we are.  Our boundless belief in the potential of young people and the power of the entrepreneurial spirit has convinced us that the best is yet to come for Junior Achievement, for our young people, and for our country.

Thank you very much for your continued support of Junior Achievement throughout western Pennsylvania.

Dennis P. Gilfoyle
President
Junior Achievement of Western PA

How can young people get the financial knowledge that they so desperately need? Fortunately, there are organizations who are answering the call to educate the next generation of consumers about how to effectively manage their money.

Junior Achievement is one such organization, working closely with the business and education communities to deliver programs that teach K-12 students age-appropriate, hands-on lessons about how to be financially literate. After participating in Junior Achievement programs, students see the important connections between education, career, salary and desired lifestyle.

I encourage businesses to support organizations such as Junior Achievement, which currently reaches more than four million K-12 students in the United States annually.

It is critical for our young people to learn effective money management so that they can become responsible contributors to our communities and to the global economy in the future.
Larry G. Schultz

Chairman
Junior Achievement of Western PA
