America’s Second Harvest, now called Feeding America, is calling all citizens concerned about hunger to “Give a Little, Feed a Lot!”

Hunger Action Month is an opportunity to engage in the fight against domestic hunger. Feeding America (previously America’s Second Harvest) and its 205 member food banks, including Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, will host events across the United States that directly benefit our hunger-relief efforts. From food drives to concerts, volunteer outings to advocacy work, there’s something everyone can do to help eliminate hunger!

You can join the Food Bank’s Pennies for Peanut Butter Campaign. With your school or group, collect pennies in peanut butter jars. An average jar holds 800 pennies, enough to buy 7 jars of peanut butter for hungry families! Email for more information.

Check our calendar for more activities you can join or attend, or start your own!

Nationally, Feeding America is teaming up with local food banks on several promotions:

Give a Little, Feed a Lot
