GOOD GRIEF CENTER FOR BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT

The premise of the Good Grief Center is to be a comprehensive bereavement resource and referral center that builds a more compassionate community through grief awareness, education, support and hope; creating a safe place where all who have experience the pain of death may come to work through loss and learn to manage grief. The Good Grief Center merged with Ursuline Support Services in 2011, becoming Ursuline’s newest service and furthering Ursuline’s commitment to supporting those vulnerable in our communities through life’s transitions.

Individual Peer Support and Support Groups

The cornerstone of the Good Grief Center is confidential “peer support,” where staff and trained volunteers serve as educators, listeners, advocates and coaches while offering empathetic understanding and a healing presence to grieving individuals and families.

Individual support is offered to those who have survived the death of someone, who anticipate death or who have experienced the death of an animal companion. The Good Grief Center offers on-site support groups for adults several times per month for general bereavement support and women who have survived their mothers. Individual peer support appointments must be made at the Good Grief Center before you are able to join a support group. Please call 412-224-4700 to schedule your appointment.
