Please join Henne Jewelers for a very special fundraiser November 2 through November 7. With the G-20 having just raised our awareness for what’s happening around the world, Henne Jewelers in Shadyside will host a week-long fundraiser for a wonderful organization called Bead forLife (BFL). It’s an event that will allow people to feel good, look good and do good – all at the same time.

WHAT: Sale of BeadforLife necklaces, earrings, bracelets and other items to raise funds for BeadforLife (www.beadforlife.org), an organization that’s eradicating poverty – one bead at a time.

WHERE: Henne Jewelers, 5501 Walnut Street, Shadyside

WHEN: The fundraiser takes place throughout the week – November 2 to 7^th during store hours (Mon, Tues, Thurs 10 to 5; Wed 10 to 8, Friday and Sat 10 to 5:30)

Reception – Thursday, November 5 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm to include African music, food and beverages

BFL and Henne connect through their mutual love of beautiful jewelry and personal craftsmanship, and BFL allows Henne and its customers to use jewelry as the conduit to make a direct and positive impact on the jewelry crafters themselves. The crafters are impoverished women in Uganda, who are making beautiful jewelry from recycled paper while creating a sustainable income for themselves. Many of them are HIV+ mothers, refugees from a brutal civil war and former prostitutes. They create beauty while creating a better future for themselves.

The necklaces, bracelets, earrings and other jewelry are very reasonably priced – from as little as $5.00 to $30 – but enables these women to earn an income five to seven times higher than they would otherwise. One hundred percent (100%) of the proceeds from the Henne sale will be donated to BeadforLife. Who would think buying a beautiful piece of hand-made jewelry for so little could mean so much?
