Candelight Vigil to Be Held to Raise Awareness About Heroin Addiction

The Pittsburgh chapter of Not One More, a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness about heroin abuse, will conduct a candlelight vigil from 7 to 9 p.m. May 15 at Irvine Park, across from the Beaver County Courthouse at 799 Corporation Street, Beaver, PA 15009

The goal of Not One More is to educate the public about drugs and addiction, and to reassure those with addictions that they are loved and are not alone. Speakers will include the Rev. Jared Bellan, who will lead the vigil and share his story of addiction and recovery, and Dr. Neil Capretto, medical director of Gateway Rehabilitation Center in Center Township. The band Into the Water also will perform. Attendees are invited to take a lawn chair or a blanket.

For more information, or to have a loved one remembered during the vigil, contact Not One More’s Pittsburgh chapter on Facebook, or email contactusnompgh@gmail.com. Information on treatment and support will be available at the event.
