Award Winning Cellist to Perform at PSO Community Partners Concert

Focus On Renewal (FOR) is pleased to announce its participation in this year’s Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra (PSO) Community Partners Concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 29 at Heinz Hall.

The concert will begin with the PSO and cellist Gabriel Cabezas, winner of the senior division of the 2012 Sphinx Competition?a program that encourages classical musical talent in the African American and Latino communities.

The R& B Group En Vogue will perform with the PSO in the second half of the concert, led by PSO Resident Conductor Lawrence Loh.

Tickets range from $25.75 to $85.75. In this wonderful ongoing collaboration with the PSO, a patron who buys a ticket can select one of 25 eligible local nonprofit organizations, including Focus On Renewal, and the PSO will donate proceeds (minus the $.75 Cultural District fee) from the ticket price to the selected organization. The Community Partners Program has raised more than $630,000 for partnering nonprofit groups since its inception in 2004. This is the 5th year FOR has been selected to participate in this partnership.
