Tickets on Sale for NHCO’s 25th Anniversary Dinner

North Hills Community Outreach will hold a 25th anniversary dinner on April 29 at the LeMont on Mt. Washington. The public is invited to attend. The evening kicks off at 5:30 p.m. and tickets are $50 per person. The evening includes a three-course meal, inspiring speakers and more. Sponsorship opportunities are available for businesses and individuals. All proceeds benefit the North Hills Community Outreach Endowment to continue helping neighbors in need for years to come. North Hills Community Outreach Holds Sixth Annual Pasta Dinner

North Hills Community Outreach’s will hold their annual Millvale Pasta Dinner on April 13 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. in Millvale Community Center at 416 Lincoln Ave. Dine in or take out. Tickets are $8 in advance or $10 at the door and include pasta with choice of sauce, bread, salad, beverage and dessert. Miniature Golf Tournament Registration Underway

North Hills Community Outreach’s 11th Annual Mini-Masters Miniature Golf Tournament will take place on May 17 at RMU Island Sports Center on Neville Island. Tickets are $45 per person or $175 per foursome and include a round of miniature golf, buffet dinner and silent auction. Vince Sims of WPXI-TV will serve as the event emcee. Free Home Repairs Available to Qualified Individuals

North Hills Community Outreach is partnering with Christ Lutheran Church to provide minor home repairs this summer to qualified seniors and low income adults with physical disabilities. The repair projects will be completed by youth volunteers June 24 to 29. Seniors or adults with physical disabilities who wish to receive home repairs should own and reside in a home in northern Allegheny County, require assistance with small projects such as painting, insulating, minor roofing and concrete pairs and be able to provide materials to be used in your home if possible. Generosity Footprints

Help North Hills Community Outreach win $10,000 in the first-ever Generosity Footprints, a Facebook-based contest. NHCO is one of only three nonprofit organizations and the only Pittsburgh-area organization selected to participate in the unique, social media event. To help NHCO win, log on to Facebook through April 30 and visit the North Hills Community Outreach page or search for the Generosity Footprints application. Log any charitable activities for friends, family, charities and even strangers. Individual participants also have a chance to win prizes.

Volunteer Opportunities at NHCO

  • North Hills Community Outreach is seeking volunteer drivers and dispatchers for their Free Rides for Seniors shuttle that provides free transportation to anyone over age 60 along Freeport Road on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Contact Kerry Mulhern at 412-449-0151 for more information.
  • North Hills Community Outreach is seeking financial coaches to work one-on-one with individuals to develop and improve financial management and behaviors. For more information, call Harriet Gibbs at 412-487-6316, opt. 2.
  • North Hills Community Outreach will hold a one-hour orientation session for prospective volunteers on April 12 at 10 a.m. at NHCO Millvale at 416 Lincoln Ave. Contact Linda Robins at 412-487-6316, opt. 2 for more information.
  • North Hills Community Outreach matches caring volunteers with elderly individuals who need a little help to remain independent in their own homes through the Open Your Heart to a Senior program. To help with grocery shopping, rides to the doctor, yard work or home safety checks, call 412-307-0071. Help is needed in every community and neighborhood.
