Walk for a Healthy Community – and for NHCO
Participants can now register and collect pledges online for the annual Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community, taking place on May 22 at Schenley Park. Volunteer Trainings and Opportunities at NHCO
- Open Your Heart to a Senior trainings, May 10, 11 and 15, times and locations vary. Call 412-307-0071 to learn more about helping a senior citizen remain safe and independent in his or her own home.

- Free Rides for Senior citizens shuttle bus drivers and onboard dispatchers: May 17, 10:30 AM, and May 19, 6:00 PM, both at Lighthouse Pointe, 500 Chapel Harbor Drive, O’Hara. Contact Kerry at 412-449-0151.
Information Sessions for Mini-Grant Applicants
Mini-grants are available to community groups and congregations that design new and innovative Open Your Heart to a Senior volunteer caregiving projects. Grant information sessions will be held on Saturday, May 15 from 9:30–11:00 AM at Family Services of Western PA, 6401 Penn Avenue, East Liberty, and on Tuesday, May 18 from 5:00–6:30 PM at North Hills Community Outreach, 1975 Ferguson Road, Allison Park.
