R.O.O.T.S. Academy, is a nonprofit organization located in Beaver County that offers a program for at risk youth, is excited to expand their Vocational Independent Living and Life Skills program. This program is created to prepare students for their transition from school to adult life, and to provide them with information on tools and resources which help them harvest and nurture their innate gifts and talents.
Lady C’s Boutique is a store that is located at R.O.O.T.S. Academy. This boutique is a store of elegance that allows the students to have hands on training at the assistance of R.O.O.T.S. Staff, while learning the challenges of “real work” in a “real world.” The Job Skills program at Lady C’s Boutique retail store consists of teaching the student’s customer service, inventory, operating a cash register, and handling and keeping receipts. Lady C’s is an intimate business where students get to experience and see, first hand, the establishment of a business. At 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 14, 2008, Lady C’s Boutique is having a fashion show to raise money for R.O.O.T.S. Academy. Tickets are $22.00 at the door, located at The Fez on 2312 Broadhead Rd. Aliquippa, PA. Dinner will be provided along with entertainment and fashion. There will be a silent auction and free giveaways. The money raised will be used to develop other components of R.O.O.T.S. Vocational Independent Living and Life Skills program such as, Cooking, Janitorial, Early Childhood Training, Lawn Care Services, and Microsoft Office Training.
