Their mission statement is as follows;
We seek to bring a measure of love and peace through sharing the blessings of food and other resources with those who are in need. We see in our neighbors the face of God and act with resolve to insure that basic needs of life are met.
As with so many other things, continued operation of our food pantry involves much more than simply distributing food on a regular basis. In addition to the obvious tasks of shopping, collecting donations and organizing the pantry shelves, we also must keep the community informed of the work we do and of how those in need of our help can locate us. Over the summer, some of our pantry volunteers and board members helped do just this by staffing information and collection booths at the Etna and Shaler Community Days; others also helped by distributing information and collecting donations at Sam’s Club on Mt. Nebo Road. Here are a more events where we will be reaching out to our Allegheny county communities:
October – Coat Drive – North Hills Community Outreach – Accepting new or little worn coats
Saturday, October 11 – 10 AM – 2 PM – Free Winter Coat Shop by appointment
