The New Choices Program at Carlow University, Community Education, a nonprofit organization, is primarily for single parents and displaced homemakers who are attempting to re-enter the workforce in order to provide economic self-sufficiency for themselves and their families.
Since 1994 Community Education at Carlow University has been helping people in transition at North Hills, South Hills, and Downtown Pittsburgh sites of western Pennsylvania. For individuals who qualify, free assessment and training are offered in:
- Career Development
- GED Preparation
- College Preparation
- Adult Literacy
- MS Office Software Applications
- Medical Terminology
- Goal Setting
- Resume Writing
- Business and Interpersonal Communication
- Networking and Interviewing
- Time and Stress Management
This program is a 501C3 nonprofit organization located in Allegheny County, PA. In addition to the programs that are free to qualified applicants, the New Choices Program at Carlow offers classes in MS Office and Microsoft Office Specialist Certification for paying organizations and individuals. The proceeds from these classes benefit Community Education students.
