16th Annual Fall Food Share for Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank

Join other shoppers at participating Giant Eagle locations across western Pennsylvania in an opportunity to purchase items from a “most-needed items” list to donate to Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, or make a cash donation at the register. All donated funds are used to purchase food for those in need. This event takes place from October 22nd through November 25th.

This drive covers much of western Pennsylvania: Erie to Greene counties, plus two Giant Eagle locations in Morgantown, WV. All donations of food and cash will go to food banks in the county where the donation was made.

Hundreds of volunteers from the Food Bank, Girl Scouts of Southwestern PA and civic groups, corporations and individuals will be at as many of the 60+ participating Giant Eagle locations as possible during at least two shifts: Saturdays 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., and Sundays 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., to pass out shopping lists and collect donated food. During the week, or if volunteers are not present, there will be a designated location to deposit purchased items in each participating store. Cash donations at the register are accepted at any time.

Volunteers from the community are welcome; family volunteers are invited to bring children as young as 4 years old (with their parents). Volunteers may sign up online to help out at their local Giant Eagle by visiting the Food Bank’s website here.
